Foods' Days

Hey, everyone

From yesterday, a typhoon gradually comes to Kanto area.

You have to be careful fully if you go out somewhere during this two days... :)

This time is my last day for posting a blog.

I really worried about what should I write for last blog.

It will be so cool if I wrote special contents such as "relationship between eating foods and human life".

But I could not do those kinds of things, because I am not specialists for foods.lol

So, I decided to introduce "Foods' Days" this time.

Did you know that there are countless foods' days in a year?

Almost of those days are birthday themselves or are just born by joke of foods' name.

For example, my birthday is January 28 and I found that there are two foods' days on that day.

That is "Rice day" and " Chicken day".

Rice is named as "Kome" in Japan and Kome is written like "米" with Japanese Kanji.

And 米 become "八十八" (= 88) by taking the word apart. That is why Rice day is January 28.

And, next is about chicken day.

Chicken is called as "Niwatori" and Niwatori's "Ni" and "Wa" has same pronunciation with 2 and 8 in Japan.

So, January 28 is Chicken day.

I am not able to actually understand those reasons and not agree why 28/01 has Rice and Chicken days.

However, it is true that there are a lot of foods' days.

So, it will be fun to check what foods' days your birthday has or what foods' days is today?

Thank you for your seeing, everyone!

And, Good-bye :)

A Chipped Ice (Kakigo-ri)

Hey friends,

Do you save an electricity?

I decide not to use an electricity in my house as much as possible.

I am going to use an electricity a lot in KUIS, because the electricity cost of university is used from our money.

I decide to spend an amount of time in Kanda university in this summer instead of being in my home!

In these days, I often eat a chipped ice in Lapaz.

Kakigo-ri is the one of my favorite foods in my college.

The cost is cheap (100yen!), it has various kinds of taste, and is delicious, so I like it.

It is also symbolic summer food.

Strawberry (Ichigo)
There are some kinds of syrups to a chipped ice, however I always think 'what is Blue Hawaii taste?'

In thinking seriously, Blue color syrup is un-normal.

From what is Blue Hawaii made? I am really interested in Blue hawaii chipped ice's sauce.

So, I searched about it a little bit.

~Blue hawaii~

The syrup's real name is blue curacao. Blue curacao is a cactail. A chipped ice staff named the blue

curacao chipped ice as blue hawaii. Blue hawaii is originally coctail's name. Raw materials of blue

curacao was orenges' skin. Blue curacao was made from colorating  orenges' skin which was dissolved

with water and was added an alcohol to take a flavor.

Although, I do not know wheather current blue hawaii taste is made from blue curacao, the material was

coctail.

I am really suprised to the truth!

By the way, although there are some kinds of Kakigo-ri syrups in KUIS, I realize, Meron syrup is not.

I am going to ask staffs 'why meron one does not exsist in here?'

And, I will try to encourge them to make meron chipped ice, because I like it so much.

Wht kinds of chipped ice (Kakigo-ri) taste do you like in KUIS or other place?

Thank you:)

Turkish Foods

Hey guys,

I gonna introduce some of Turkish foods today.

I went Turkey about 20 days in last summer vacation as international volunteer member and that was my first trip going overseas.

It was great for me and I experienced a lot of wonderful things.

Do you know about Turkish foods?

There are some Turkish foods in Japan such as Kebab and Expanding Ice cream.

Kebab

Anyway, do you know that Turkish dish is one of Three Major World Dish?

It is recognized as traditional and delicious dish as same as Chinese dish and French dish.

Turkish foods was born by mixing traditional Turkish foods which expand to Middle Asia and some Europe dish.

Turkey is located in Middle East Asia and the country is often influenced from both Europe culture and Asian culture.

And, that things made Turkey as one of Three Major World Dish.

I think that the best Turkish foods was an expanding ice cream.

I could eat it just 60 yen, very cheap!

If you go Turkey, please try to eat a lot of delicious world dish.

Thank you:)
